Ford recalling 1.1 million trucks over gas tanks

Ford Motor Co, said on Monday that it is 1.22 million older pickup trucks in the United States and Canada belts that keep in mind to replace fuel tanks in position and could corrode and break.

The recall of Ford F-150 full-size trucks from model years 1997 to 2004, F-250 pickup trucks of less than 8 500 pounds from model years 1997 to 1999 and Lincoln Blackwood trucks from model years 2002 and 2003, is a Ford spokesman said.


The vehicles will be reminded 1.1 million are in the United States and the rest are in Canada.


The trucks that were affected in the recall are all sold or registered in 21 Eastern and Midwestern United States, Washington, D.C., and Canadian provinces, where the possibility of heavy corrosion of institutions which hold the fuel tanks can occur due to prolonged exposure to chemicals, de-icing Street said Ford.
