GM is to run Delphi Powertrain business exec

DETROIT - General Motors has way senior veterans from its former parts arm of GM global engine and transmission operations run set.

The auto giant on Sept. 1 will join Steve Kiefer, who runs Delphi Corp. powertrain system. In addition to GM Powertrain business, leads, he will be also engine development. Jim Lanzon will remain as Vice President of global transmission.

The global Powertrain job is vacant, because Jamie Harding left the company in March 2011. Pine has also functions of the Sam Winegarden, head of engine engineering was globally.

The trade journal Automotive News said in July that Winegarden by GM was dismissed after irregularities with emissions performed on engines in India were discovered tests.
