GM recalls 16,000 Chevy, Buick cars

DETROIT - General Motors co is 16,198 Chevrolet Impala and Buick LaCrosse cars in the United States and Canada to address sensors and power steering problems, bearing in mind the automaker said Friday.

The company said that it knew no injury or crashes in connection with the two callbacks.


GM is recalling 11.905 2012 Impalas, to check power steering for the correct installation of the hose. The company said the hose and spray if could be misdirected, damaged you a potential for a fire to create liquid onto hot engine parts.


The Detroit-based company, said the defect during the production at the site of Oshawa, Ontario, was discovered, where the car is built.


GM said dealers replace the tube and add abrasion protection if the tube is not properly be redirected.


The total Impala of the recall action affects 10,334 in the United States and the rest in Canada.


GM also said it is 4,293 2012 with reference to LaCrosses that control electronic brake reprogram module, as a wrong calibration may result in the electronic stability system not properly detected a sensor malfunction and no illuminated warning light.


The company said if a sensor malfunctions, the driver would have path driving difficulties in maintaining the car and speed. GM said that dealers will reprogram the module.


The entire LaCrosses of the recall action affects 4,077 in the United States and the rest in Canada.
