Motors are more than 145,000 General its mid-sized pickups remember, because a missing locking mechanism on the hood of the truck on the motorway fly unexpectedly open could lead.
The recall involves two models, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, both during the 2010-2012 model years manufactured. 118.800 The pickups were sold in the United States, an other 15.264 in Canada. The rest were sold in Mexico or exported to other parts of the world.
The problem is, that a secondary hood latch on the vehicles that were not installed according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the primary locking mechanism is not properly occupied the Hood could open inhabitants. The situation could be serious while the ride like the wind could lift the hood and driver's block particular views of the road ahead.
The automaker confirmed that it has learned four instances where the secondary latches were not installed. But GM says there are no known cases of crashes or injuries due to the problem.
The company plans, customers of the problem next month advised by letter and it will instruct owners bring their vehicles to a dealer for inspection.
If the secondary lock is missing, the manufacturer will replace the entire hood, according to GM.
