Japan's top consumer reports car companies-rankings

Japanese automaker Honda, Subaru and Toyota as the WASHINGTON consumer reports named best all-round car manufacturer for the third year in a row in its annual auto issue.

The influential magazine said on Monday in its 2011 annual auto issue, that Ford Motor Co., the review made the largest increase from year to year. The reviews are based on the magazine of the average road tests and predicted reliability scores and watched closely by car buyers.

Honda Motor Co. had the best overall score of 74 out of 100 rating in the consumer reports ranking. Honda was followed by Subaru with 73 points and Toyota Motor Corp. with 71 points. Volvo was closely followed by Ford and Hyundai fourth with 68 points.

Chrysler Group LLC and the worst ranking among the automakers had scored 43 points. Mercedes-Benz, BMW and General Motors were also at the bottom.

In the ranking of automakers said consumer reports Honda had the best reliability of a company and recommended about three-quarters of the Honda vehicles, which has tested it. Subaru had test the highest score and credited to the journal the society for reliable all-wheel drive vehicles with simple controls.

Toyota, which with massive safety recalls dealt fared well in the magazine's top picks for 2011 in 10 different vehicle segments. Toyota had the most with three picks (RAV4 of small SUV, Sienna minivan and Prius hybrid).

The magazine recognized also the Honda fit budget car, Hyundai Elantra compact car, Nissan Altima family sedan, Kia Sorento family SUV, Ford Mustang sports car, Infiniti G37 sedan and Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck.
