GM, Chrysler employee bonuses get

Ford to add shifts at some U.S. power plants.

Toyota truck sales increased by 37 percent for the month, led by the RAV 4 small SUV. Car sales increased by 15 percent. The compact Corolla and gas electric hybrid Prius each rose more than 20 percent.

Ford sales increased 9 percent, partly because of a significant decrease in the fleet and partly because the setting of the Mercury brand at the end of last year. Ford sold 248 mercury in January, 5,000 lower than in the same month a year earlier.

Other automakers of reporting sales Tuesday:

Honda Motor Co. said sales growth of 13 percent. The CR-V was Honda's best-selling model with revenue growth of 69%. Honda increased its innovation incentives by 45 percent to $2.074 per vehicle, the largest jump in the industry according to Toprak. Nissan Motor Co. sales growth was 15 percent of the strength of its Rogue crossover, sales jump 72 percent. Kia Motors sales rose by 26 percent, led by the Sorento, which a car and a SUV of the redesigned Optima sedan combines the features.

Detroit's 3 bonuses could be a nation angry anger credit

Workers received likely rewards of different quantities.

This is good news for Detroit and Michigan. It should be good news for the nation. U.S. automakers are good with more money stimulus.

But I worry that it is the entire nation are not well received.

Ford is one of the world's most profitable automaker. It achieved a profit of $6.56 billion last year. Plus, Ford declined to take government loans of the recession. Ford's profit-sharing is a continuation of the good news is.

But Ford's Detroit took counterparts Government bonds and for federal bankruptcy protection 2009 filed. Many people, the evil with tax dollars to GM and Chrysler afloat.

So how will the nation to respond, if hand the Detroit 3 bonuses if taxpayers own part of the company yet? Probably not so well despite loans in stages and with interest the fact, the numbers, the automakers.

It is a bold move by GM and Chrysler leaders to pay premiums.

But the folks at these automakers worked hard to turn losses into profits. While it with financial help from the taxpayer actions, you have still the work itself.

My view: Why should not you be rewarded?

Save electric cars to keep peace of mind, but what?

I am terrible about remembering you and sheer paranoia forcing me to change my car's oil spillage, before it is probably necessary. Quickie lube joints love me.

But if I would I an electric vehicle, not to worry.

The Nissan leaf neither the Ford focus electric needs an oil change. The Chevrolet Volt can require about two years before, a go.

And because less moving mechanical parts to focus electric and leaf as in gasoline vehicles, less total routine service requires.

Ford prides itself: "check the tire pressure and fill the washer fluid is windscreen of all need to do most focus electric driver."

What peace of mind.

And I did the math. Not having recommended maintenance of Ford-oil, air filters to replace the cooling system flush, transmission service, replace the drive belts and purchase and install Zundkerzen--a saving of approximately $1,171.75 on a 10-year is 150,000 miles expected service life of the car, a regular focus.

But the focus of electric's charging station and installation cost $1499. The leaf 220 volt loading station and installation runs about $2,200.

It is also a lack of infrastructure charge those vehicles. Nervous long routes would make me. I would worry how it would handle in treacherous weather. Would have the power to enforce it, drain snow and electricity and limit my driving distance would do?

Each consumer must decide if the savings in time and money for routine maintenance prevails over the other issues.

Sometimes has peace of mind at a price.

Salaried bonuses ready for UAW bulletin boards

Chrysler Group average 2010 bonus for an employee is reportedly $10,000- or more than 13 times $750 each hourly workers.

Gary Walkowicz, a UAW collective bargaining Committee which said representative of the employees in the Ford Rouge plant in Dearborn, Michigan, the oversized salaried bonuses show automakers the money and the apparent willingness to select workers a greater share of the success of the company to cut.

He said he and many of its employees want to receive the workers a real boost as part of a new labor contract in September, not only a bonus as those negotiated this year.
